Mr Uysal was born in 1952 in Afyon, Turkey. Mr Uysal is a graduate of Istanbul Technical University Geology Department and obtained a Master Degree in Geophysical Engineering from Saint Louis University. Between 1979 and 1997, Mr Uysal occupied various position at the Geophysics Department at TPAO: Head of Search, Senior geophysicist, Project geophysicist, Diyarbakir Regional Search Manager, Project Consultant and Deputy Head of Department.
 
Between 1997 and 2000 he worked as Vice President in the Overseas Projects Department at TPAO. Between 2000 and 2003 Mr Uysal was Head of Search at TPAO, and worked as Consultant and Expert Engineer. Between 2006 and 2007 Mr Uysal was TPAO Executive Vice President  and served as a Member of the Board. Between the years 2007-2008 Mr Uysal was TPAO General  Director. Currently, Mr Uysal serves as TPAO General  Director and Chairman of the Board.
