Dan Matthews is the managing partner of Baker & McKenzie’s office in Baku, Azerbaijan. A member of his firm’s Energy, Mining & Infrastructure Industry Group and its Banking & Finance Practice Group, he advises on all types of cross-border finance transactions, including financing in the oil and gas industry. He also advises domestic and multinational clients on related structuring, credit support, taxation, customs and currency control issues. A member of the Florida Bar, Dan is a 1986 graduate of the University of Florida College of Law where he was on the Law Review. He also received an undergraduate degree from that same university in Political Science with a concentration in Soviet and East European Studies in 1983.
Mr. Matthews is currently the president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan, chairman of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement Azerbaijan and a trustee of the Eurasia Partnership Foundation.
