Mr. Borut Grgic, Nonresident Senior Fellow, Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center, Atlantic Council
 
Mr. Borut Grgic is the director and founder of the Trans-Caspian project; a business platform promoting political, economic and energy dialogue between the European Union(EU) and the Caspian region. He has been involved in the discussions and conceptualizations of both the Trans-Caspian gas connection and the Caspian-Balkan gas connection.  He has worked throughout the region, including Turkey, since 2007.
 
Mr. Grgic is also the foreign policy advisor to the mayor of Ljubljana and the leader of the Pozitivna Slovenija party.  He has been a non-resident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council since 2003.
 
From 2006 to 2007 Mr. Grgic worked in the office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo where he was responsible for developing and executing the Prime Minister's international media strategy.

In 2005 Mr. Grgic worked as a policy advisor to the Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE where he covered the Ukrainian Orange Revolution and the Kyrgyz Tulip Revolution.

From 2003 to 2005 Mr. Grgic served as the NATO and EU advisor to the President of Slovenia. In 2004 he launched the Institute for Strategic Studies in Ljubljana, Slovenia, which he directed until 2009.

Mr. Grgic is an expert in natural gas, energy politics, the Caspian region, the Balkans and EU affairs. He lives in New York.
