Mr. Batu Aksoy, Board Member and CEO, Turcas Petrol AŞ
Mr. Batu Aksoy, born in Istanbul, graduated from The Johns Hopkins University, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1998. In 2001, Mr. Aksoy was appointed as a Board Member of Aksoy Holdings.
In 2005, Mr. Aksoy was appointed as an executive board member of Turcas Petrol, where he played an important role in shaping the new organizational structure of Turcas, especially in establishing the Shell and Turcas fuel retail in 2006, SOCAR & Turcas refining and petrochemicals in 2007, acquisition of the Petkim Petrochemicals Holding in 2008, and establishment of the RWE and Turcas power generation in 2009. Turcas today is the only integrated energy company in Turkey traded on the Istanbul Stock Exchange with subsidiaries in the oil, petrochemicals, gas and power sectors.
Mr. Aksoy continues to serve as the chief executive officer of Turcas Petrol and as an executive board member in the following companies: Aksoy Holdings, Enak Construction, Turcas Petrol, SOCAR & Turcas Energy, SOCAR & Turcas Petrochemicals, SOCAR & Turcas Refining, Petkim Petrochemicals Holding, Petkim Port Operations, Petrokim International Trading, Turcas Energy Holding, Turcas Power Generation, Turcas Power Trading, Turcas Gas, Turcas Wind, RWE & Turcas South Power Generation, RWE & Turcas North Power Generation, and vice chairman of RWE & Turcas Energy Sales.
Batu Aksoy is a Member of TÜSİAD (Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association) and its Energy Working Group, Member of the Board of PETFORM (Petroleum Platform Association), having acted as Chairman between 2006- 2008, Member of the Board of ETD (Energy Traders Association), Member of the Executive Committee of the Turkish-Greek Business Council of DEIK (Foreign Economic Relations Board), and a Member of YPO (Young Presidents Organization).
