H.E. Traycho Traykov, Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism, Republic of Bulgaria
H.E. Traykov was appointed Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism in 2009. Previously, he worked for EVN Bulgaria, the Bulgarian subsidiary of EVN Group.
H.E. Traykov joined EVN Bulgaria’s management team in 2005. As head of the office of the Management Board and subsequently procurist of the company, H.E. Traykov successfully implemented modern corporate governance practices, efficiency increases and reductions of technological losses, increased collection rates, integrated Toplofikatsia Plovdiv following its acquisition, as well as other projects.
Prior to his role at EVN Bulgaria, H.E. Traykov worked for Roland Berger - a world leader in strategic consulting. In that capacity, he carried out post-merger restructuring and integration consulting for the EVN Group in the wake of their acquisition of Bulgarian electricity distribution companies in Plovdiv and Stara Zagora.
Born in 1970 in Sofia, Bulgaria, H.E. Traykov graduated from First English Language School in Sofia, before attending the University of National and World Economy where he earned a Master's Degree in International Economic Relations in 1994.
He is fluent in English, German, Russian and Romanian.
