H.E. Sherali Gul, Minister of Energy and Industry, Republic of Tajikistan
 
Minister Sherali Gul was born in the Farkhor district and by nationality is Tajik. In 1974 he graduated from the Tajik Agricultural Institute (now the Tajik Agrarian University), specializing in water engineering. He began his career in 1974 as an engineer of bank protection works in the Farkhor area. From 1994 to 2001 he served as chairman of Dangara district, and from 2001-06 as chairman of State Committee of Property of the Republic of Tajikistan. In 2006 he was appointed by the president as minister of energy and industry of the Republic of Tajikistan. Minister Gul has been awarded the Order of Ismail Somoni second-degree Sharaf, diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Tajik SSR. Minister Gul is married and has seven children.
