H.E. Fatmir Besimi, Minister of Economy, Republic of Macedonia
 
His Excellency Fatmir Besimi is the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Macedonia. He was the Minister of Economy in the December 2004 - July 2006 government. He was re-appointed to the position in 2008 with the current Macedonian government. In the meantime he worked as an economist in the World Bank Office in Kosovo. From May 2001 to October 2002, he was THE Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Republic of Macedonia, and he upgraded part of his professional working experience as a director of the Public Enterprise for Airport Services Macedonia, in Stopanska Banka a.d. Skopje, subsidiary in Tetovo and as president of the management board of AME-Association of modern economics in Tetovo.
 
His Excellency Besimi attended university in Tetovo and studied Economics at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje. He obtained a Ph.D fromStaffordshire University in 2007. He also serves as vice-governor (as minister of economy) of Republic of Macedonia in the Board of governors of the European Bank for reconstruction and development, LondonGreat Britain.
