Dr. Volodymyr Ignashchenko, Counselor to Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Ukraine
Dr. Volodymyr Ignashchenko has served as Counselor to the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine since March 2011. He is a member and executive secretary of the PSA Inter-Agency Committee of Ukraine and co-authored “On Product Sharing Agreements,” a Ukranian law adopted in September 2010.
From 1985 to 1996, Dr. Ignashchenko served as a docent at the International Private and Customs Law department at Kyiv State University. In 1996, he became Vice-President of Ukrainian State Credit-Innovation Company, serving as First Deputy Chairman of the National Agency of Ukraine for Reconstruction and Development from 1996 –1998. Later, Dr. Ignashchenko served as Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine 1998 -2001. In 2001-2002, he was a senior research fellow at Kyiv State University. He was the Adviser to the Head of the National Bank of Ukraine from 2003 -2004 and Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine from 2004-2006, before being appointed in 2008 and 2010 as First-Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection of Ukraine.
Dr. Ignashchenko earned his M.A. in International Economic Relations from Kyiv State University in 1981, and a Ph.D. in International Private Law in 1985.
