Dr. Mattias Kollatz-Ahnen, Vice President, European Investment Bank
 
Born in 1957 in Germany, Dr. Mattias Kollatz-Ahnen holds degrees in physics and economics and a doctorate of engineering. After having been Head of Cabinet in a Federal German State Ministry in Hessen, he became Managing Director and Member of the Executive Board of Landestreuhandstelle Hessen and Investitionsbank Hessen. Dr. Kollatz-Ahnen became a member of the Management Committee of the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg in October 2006, becoming responsible for lending programs in Germany, Turkey, Russia and the Baltic States. Further responsibilities concern Convergence Policies of the EU, Financing of SMEs as well as new products and special transactions often involving energy projects.
