Maria Nikitenkova is head of the Division of the Institute of the USA and Canada of Russian Academy of Sciences and Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal “Russia and America in the XXI century.” The journal publishes analyses of major events and features discussions on the modern principles of international relations, focusing on Russian-American relations from the perspective of leading Russian scientists.
 

During the last decade Dr. Nikitenkova proved to be an exceptionally efficient and in-depth researcher in the field of creative economy  and the development of innovative national structures. Dr. Nikitenkova is the author of 65 analytical papers as well as monographs and courses.  From 2010 to 2011, Dr. Nikitenkova worked as an expert for the European Commission on the  "Support to e-Government in the Russian Federation" project.
 

Dr. Nikitenkova graduated from the Faculty of Cybernetics at the Moscow State Institute of Engineering and Physics (Moscow State Technical University) and pursued a post-graduate Program in International Relations at the Russian Academy of Sciences. She earned her Ph.D. in International Economics in 2005.
