Ambassador Leonidas Chrysanthopoulos, Secretary General, Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization
Ambassador Leonidas Chrysanthopoulous is the Secretary General of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC). Before his appointment in 2006, he served as ambassador to Poland, Canada and Armenia. Most recently he served as Director General for Bilateral Economic Relations and Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Chaired the Committee of Senior Officials of BSEC in Komotini and represented Greece in that Committee.
As Secretary General of BSEC, he gave important emphasis on transport issues of BSEC. In particular, he pushed and succeeded in having a political agreement for the signature of the memorandum of understanding of the Black Sea Ring Highway (BSRH) that was signed in Belgrade on 19 April 2007 by the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of BSEC.
